Introduction

In this blog you are going to see the stages in which I go through to create my final media product which I will refer to as an FMP throughout my posts. To go about this, I will first think up of 3 types of media I wish to focus on. I am going to describe and go in detail why I have chosen these 3 ideas, then follow each idea up with an explanation. With my FMP, I am going to create my own unique branding. This will be displayed throughout my blog posts and my final product. The branding is important as it shows the reader/consumer that it is my own work, a type of watermark.

The 3 media ideas i've had are:
  1. Music Video
I picked music video because I enjoy filming short creative clips and collaging them together to music. Me being a musician myself, helps with this aspect. I like the fact I can edit the footage to the beat of the music and know what the codes and conventions are for music instantly. I've made numerous music videos in the past (secondary school, for bands and for college) and i've always enjoyed it. The music video I created, when i was in secondary school, I made completely by myself. The only actor was me, and the camera man was me. I was surprised how well it came out and ended up being shown to the whole school on TV's around school.

     2. Radio Broadcast

I chose the idea of creating a Radio Broadcast mainly because we have created them in college and have enjoyed the experience and would like to continue on this. I am very into my music and own a record collection I have collected personally. I have a good understanding of music and I feel this would be a good opportunity.

     3. Advert

My last idea was to do an advert. The advert will be on advertising a new music club opening in the local area. The advert will include a poster and a video. I chose to do to this as I thought it was a gap in the market near me. The video would be produced by using footage at other clubs and events and mixing them all together to create a montage. There won't be a linear narrative to the video.
